Our story
We've all joked about bringing a Sonicare, a Dyson, or even a Ryobi leaf blower to the crag. As more climbers showed up with battery-driven fans and pocket jet blowers, the idea struck me: why not combine it with a brush?
That's how the ChalkBlaster was born. The world's first electric jet-powered climbing brush. It blasts chalk, cools the rock, and dries your hands, giving you optimal friction no matter the conditions.
My first attempt was a Kickstarter campaign. It failed, spectacularly — but it taught me a ton and led me to meet Paul, who's now my co-founder. Together, we rebuilt the idea from the ground up, and we're proud to show you what we believe is the best climbing brush out there.
Meet the team
Two climbers, driven by the quest for the ultimate friction. We developed a climbing brush with multi-functionality for your Everyday Climbing Carry (EDC).
Beyond the two of us, many people helped turn an idea into reality. I want to extend my thanks to Ole, Amy, Rasmus, Karl, Mohan and Brian for their early support, and to all the early backers who believed in the project.
How we built it?
Since teaming up, we've basically lived inside the prototype loop: dozens of 3D-printed bodies, vent layouts, and brush-head geometries; bottom- vs. side-intake; internal shapes tuned for noise, cooling, and airflow.
We even designed our own custom bristle head, adding slit ports to route air under and around the bristles. Paired with a quick-lock mount, heads and attachments swap in seconds.
Our design rule stays simple: keep it as small as possible without sacrificing performance. The result is a slim, lightweight everyday carry for gym sessions and bouldering trips alike.
Who is it for?
ChalkBlaster isn’t for everyone. It won’t replace your favorite brush — it works with it to make cleaning faster and more effective on bigger holds such as slopers, volumes, and removes the chalk build-ups and dampness on the rock.
If you’re chasing consistent friction between burns and want every attempt to be at your best, this belongs in your kit.
What's next?
The plan is simple: get ChalkBlaster into climbers’ hands, test it, break it, and feed everything we learn back into rapid improvements.
Longer term, we’re exploring a smaller form-factor and playing with ideas such as bidirectional motors.
Sustainability
Designed with repairability in mind. We accept returns and will repair broken parts. Combined that with our replaceable brush head, our device is designed to be a work horse.
We participate in WEEE take-back in our EU launch countries with clear end-of-life guidance for device, battery, and packaging.
